Buffalo and Tough Cookie are coming home to Manchester, and you’re all invited!

We hope you'll all join us!

We hope you’ll all join us!

Happy December!

Janelle and I hope you had a great Thanksgiving. December is going to be a wonderful and busy month for us, and I thought I’d update you on some upcoming events we’re very excited about.

Let’s begin with our big homecoming. On Thursday, December 12 starting at 7 p.m., we’ll hold our first presentation and reading in Manchester at the Manchester Public Library at 405 Pine Street. The evening of music and tales of adventure will be a wonderful pre-holiday, family friendly event and guess what? You are invited!

This will be a special day for us and we’re thrilled to be in our hometown. These past few months on the road have sharpened our show and we’re going to throw everything we can at this one. Janelle’s brother Aaron will open the festivities with a surprise violin piece (I can’t tell you what he’ll play, you’ll just have to come!) Then, I’ll give a reading and slide show. Janelle will tell the story of how we got our trail names. And after, we’ll stick around for a Q and A and to hear about your own adventures.

Oh, and we’ll be raffling off a great Grape Nuts day pack! This event is FREE and it will take place in the library auditorium. Do you like the special invite Janelle’s creative aunt Nancy made for us? We so hope you’ll stop by!

And for all you North Country fans, we have a packed schedule of events for you as well. Here they are:

Sat. Dec. 7: Slide Show / Reading / Book Signing: Father Roger Bilodeau Community Center, 194 Pollard Road, Lincoln, NH. 7-8:30 pm. The Lincoln Public Library and the great Mountain Wanderer Bookstore are presenting us for an evening of readings, signings and mountain talk. This event will be amazing! Free

Sun. Dec. 8: Authors Day Meet and Greet: White Mountain Cafe, 212 Main Street, Gorham, NH. 1-4 p.m. Join us and a bunch of other cool NH authors – including our publisher and White Mountain guru Mike Dickerman – for an afternoon of book chat and networking at one of our favorite North Country cafes! Free.

Thurs. Dec. 12: Slide Show / Reading / Presentation: Manchester Public Library, 405 Pine Street, Manchester, NH. 7-8:30. We’re back in our home town to give a show, and perfect a perfect gift for the dad or mom looking to get the little ones up a mountain! Free.

Sat. Dec. 14: Author Fair and Book Show: Conway Public Library, 15 E. Main Street, Conway, N.H. 11 a.m.- 2 p.m. Join me and a two dozen other local authors for an afternoon of reading, meeting and a whole bunch of great Christmas present idea! Free.

Sat. Dec. 14: Meet and Greet / Book Signing: Water Street Bookstore, 125 Water Street, Exeter, NH, 4 p.m. Just in time for a Christmas Gift or two, stop by, say hi and fill up on presents for the big day! Free.

In other news, thanks to your support, the book has done very well and Janelle and I have been thrilled to meet so many wonderful and enthusiastic fans! But I have a favor to ask. If you’ve enjoyed the book or one of our presentations, I’d appreciate a review on Amazon, or even a simple star rating on GoodReads. It means a lot to me personally, of course, but it helps the book standing as well.

This has been an amazing ride for us, and winter and spring of 2014 is shaping up to be great as well. We’ll have a couple big announcements coming up about hikes and other events. And my second full length book, The Nepal Chronicles, will be appearing on Kindle before the end of the year.

So once again, thank you! We hope to see you on the road!

Dan and Janelle
